Now that my business is expanding, some of the bigger gigs are requiring me to get help to make things go smoother. I am in need of assistants, as well as second shooters.
Some positions are paid, some not, but they are all a great way to learn more about photography. So this is a call out to all my former students, and anyone else who is interested. Here are some of the requirements:
-None really, just an interest in photography and a willingness to learn. I need help when on portrait or restaurants shoots. Just the ability to follow directions, help with ideas, and set up/break down equipment.
Most of these jobs will be unpaid, I will cover taxis along with a meal if it runs long. If this becomes a regular thing, then a salary is negotiable.
-Most of the experience will be with shooting events (weddings, conferences, parties, team building, dinners) A thorough knowledge of your camera, as well as on camera flash, is essencial. Some events might require computer skills and editing on tight deadlines.
-Some events also require you to know how to run a basic studio set up, as well as some post production and printing (think on the spot prints for attendees, and photobooth management).
These positions are normally paid, depending on experience. If you have no experience, that is ok, I am willing to train, but it will be unpaid until I am comfortable with you going out there on your own to get stellar images.
Most of the times for assisting are during the day. For events, generally you will loose a night or weekend, another reason why those are paid.
If you are interested, just reply to 1world1eye(at)gmail.com with you name, experience, and times you are free during the week/weekends. I will follow up with a confirmation of some sort and start building a list from there.
Thanks in advance.
